Head-On Collision
A 1280 kg Triumph TR-8 traveling south at 37.40 km/hr crashes head-on into a 1980 kg Checker cab moving north at 82.0 km/hr. If, immediately after the collision, the two cars remain tangled together but free to coast, what is their final speed?

Can anyone help me here? I dont understand what im doing
wrong! which equation should i use? is this an inelastic
colision?

Re: Anonymous 3
subtract the two forces then
divide by the sum of their mass.
once you get that, you just have to convert it to m/s

im follwing the steps and i cant seem to get it right. I
have masses of 1290 + 1970 = 3260 and then when I converted
my forcdes to m/s I have 23.05 and 10 m/s so subtracting
them I get 13.05. So 13.05/3260 = .004 What am I doing
wrong?
